PTO MembershipSeptember 2007 Dear Mark Twain Elementary Parents, As Mark Twain families, we are fortunate to be part of such a unique learning community. Thanks to support from friends, family and corporate neighbors, we are well on our way to being one of the best elementary schools in town, as evidenced by our IB World School status, our diversity, and our students’ high standardized test scores. To sustain our status as a top-tier elementary school, Mark Twain’s faculty depends on funds from the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) to supplement their materials, technology, and curriculum. In turn, the Mark Twain PTO depends on a strong financial commitment and the dedication of friends, family and corporate members of the community. The Friends & Family Campaign is an important part of our overall PTO fundraising program. This year we will raise funds for teacher, student, classroom and technology support, curriculum enrichment, staff appreciation, facility enhancements and more. About the Friends and Family Campaign (PDF file) Funds raised in September help support programming early in the academic year and pay for initial expenses related to the annual Spooky Spaghetti Dinner and Carnival, held on October 27, and the Huckleberry Bash “Denim and Diamonds” auction and dinner to be held April 4, 2008 at the Junior League of Houston. Please help enrich the educational experience our children receive at Mark Twain by making a tax-deductible donation to the Mark Twain PTO. Enclosed you will find information regarding giving levels and associated benefits. In advance, we thank you for your support! PTO Membership Levels and Benefits (PDF file) Even if you choose to not make a donation to the PTO, please complete the Directory/Membership Form so we can have your information for our school and classroom directories.
