technology changes at Twain

The summer of 2019 has brought a few changes to the technology platforms the PTO uses at Mark Twain Elementary, and we wanted to catch you up!

Website: To freshen up the look and achieve better functionality, we have built a new website on the Squarespace platform. The goal was a modern, clean site that allowed us to 1) provide parents with the information they need in a simplified way, and 2) highlight our school so that prospective students can find out why our programming, teachers, staff, and community are unmatched here in Houston. It didn’t hurt that the platform has the capability to easily share events, blog posts, and photos, allows our sponsors to shine, and integrates beautifully with social media such as Instagram and Facebook.

As always, with anything new there are corrections and improvements to be made. The technology team would love your feedback! Reach Amanda Murray and Bethany Lenhart at twaintechnology@gmail.com.

School Directory: Time to say goodbye to My School Anywhere and say hello to Membership Toolkit! Just as you were getting familiar with My School Anywhere, the company merged with Membership Toolkit and voila, guess who gets to learn a new tool. Not to fear, our school directory team has been working hard throughout the summer to ensure an easy transition. Membership Toolkit is even easier to use and offers an app so you can access the directory on the go! CLICK HERE for registration instructions.

If you have any questions or comments, contact Shell Jenkins and Ashley Clinton at twaindirectory@hotmail.com.

School Store: Beginning this year, we are transitioning the school store to an online platform, utilizing the eCommerce functionality in the new Squarespace website. It can be accessed by clicking the School Store link in the menu bar. You will be able to purchase uniforms and have them delivered to your child’s classroom. The school store will continue to be open once a week for school supplies and uniforms.

Please send your questions and feedback to our School Store Manager, Edit Churchill, at schoolstore@marktwainpto.org.

Thanks for your understanding and patience. The PTO is always thinking about how to improve each process and experience for our students and parents, while making our dollars work HARD for us. We’ll see what kind of C-H-A-N-G-E-S the year 2020 brings!
