The school’s faculty depends on supplemental funds from the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) to help them attain their academic goals and to enrich the educational programs offered to our children. To accomplish this, the Mark Twain PTO depends on the strong financial commitment and dedication of friends, family and corporate members of the community.
friends and family donation program
Mark Twain said, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” Our Friends & Family campaign is an opportunity for parents and all friends and family of our students to make a tax-deductible donation to the Mark Twain PTO. Funds raised through our Friends & Family Campaign help us get the year started! Our fundraising efforts are vitally important in the current climate of district budget cuts and deficits. Funds raised support:
The International Baccalaureate (IB) program through teacher training and program fees
The Literary Development Center (LDC) through supplies and consultation fees
Classroom equipment and supplies
Technology and communication tools
PTO events and programs such as International Festival, Art A La Carte and Math and Science Night
A donation to the Friends and Family campaign DIRECTLY supports and benefits Mark Twain Elementary School. Over the years, funds raised by the PTO have not only been used to support the daily expenses of our school such as printing or online subscriptions, but have also allowed us to take on larger projects such as the new playground, restock libraries, and purchasing new technology for each classroom. Please continue reading to learn more about how you can invest in our campus, our neighborhood, our teachers, our staff, and most importantly our children.

corporate partners program
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Mark Twain Elementary (MTE) is excited to prepare for the 2019-2020 school year. MTE’s purpose is to promote and develop responsible, active, and reflective citizens of the world. The mission of the MTE PTO is to enhance student education and build community through volunteer and fundraising efforts.
Located inside the Loop in Braeswood Place, Mark Twain is nestled in between Texas Medical Center, Bellaire and West University. Called by the Houston Press, the “best hidden neighborhood,” Braeswood Place is a mix of native Texans, Houstonians, and friends from around the world.
For fifteen years, through the dedication and generosity of our corporate sponsors, MTE PTO has raised funds that directly support and enrich our students. With continued funding cuts, our school needs corporate support to maintain the level of academic excellence that we strive for and expect. Your generous donations to support and supplement our students’ education through our International Baccalaureate program, Literary Development Program, Dual Language Program, educational materials, music and art enrichment, instructional field trips, technology enhancements, community service projects, professional development, facility and grounds upgrades. Our corporate campaign plays a vital role in our overall fundraising program.
MTE PTO also hosts fundraising events throughout the year, such as directory ads, Back to School Rumble, Spooky Spectacular fall festival, Bingo Night, Spirit Nights, Math & Science Night, Art Night, Book Fair and Huckleberry Bash. Each event has additional benefits for greater company recognition for our Corporate Partners. We also have a strong online presence via Facebook, Instagram and our MTE PTO website where we highlight our corporate sponsors continuously throughout the year.
The PTO is happy to offer new options so your tax-deductible donation will increase your company’s reputation and exposure to the Mark Twain and Braeswood communities. Click on the button below for information regarding donation levels and associated marketing benefits for your business.
